PESRankings Main Event

On Saturday we’ll be updating live from Old Trafford at the PESRankings UK Main Event. With 64 players in attendance and a top prize of £1000 worth of Amazon vouchers, the top spot will be hotly contested.

With players traveling from as far a field as Northern Ireland the winner goes through to the European final alongside the PESRankings winner.

PES 10 Screens

The new PSM3 magazine hit the shelves this week, and now we can bring you some screen-shots from the new PES 10 game. With next gen visuals and a real attenti0n to detail, Konami look set for another sales success.

Messi and Torres are set to be the cover stars of this years game, with impressive ambient lighting and shadow rendering. It’s been assured these are actual in game screen-shots. and not PR renders.

The Anfield stadium now features a full 3d crowd who react to the pitch action.

PES Star

Konami are running a competition to select a PES Star to appear alongside Messi and Torres in the PES 10 marketing Campaign.

Behind the scenes – Messi motion capture

As part of the development for PES2010 a motion capture session was held with Lionel Messi. In an effort to further improve the games animation Messi donned a rather fetching motion capture suit. So his actions could be captured and inputted into the game engine.

Konami are really putting in the effort to ensure PES2010 recaptures the crown.

UFC : Finals

Semi Finals

After some hard fought quarter finals the winners would go on to face each other, whilst the unfortunate losers take an early shower! sadly I didn’t make it past the first bout.

Mark was still odds on favorite to take the overall title, while Lee recovers from two knockouts.

Tim v Phil

No mixed martial arts here, Tim and Phil went head to head literally with some good old fashioned fist fighting. Tim finally emerging on top quite literally, after Phil succumbed to the relentless barrage of punches.

Kristine v Dave

Dave would employ the eye of the Tiger but sadly to no avail, Kristine would hold down Dave, who eventually submitted to the onslaught of punches.

Mark v Paul

Paul employed some swift blocking whilst Mark controlled the match.

The Final

The stage was set for an exciting final and all three remaining fighters would square up in the Octagon for three rounds, with a hefty prize fund on offer.

Tim showed no mercy to swiftly knockout Kristine, while Mark knocked out both Kristine and Tim.
Mark would go on to take the final win after an unbeaten streak, proving too much for the other members of staff. Mark takes home a mega lolly and a weeks holiday.

Smashing

I’m a big fan of so called extreme marketing, EA ran a campaign last year, dressing up a petrol station for a games launch. To promote the launch of Red Faction Guerilla THQ placed 100 copies of the game inside a car in central London. With passers by encouraged to take out the frustration of a working day to grab a copy of the game.

“Because Red Faction Guerrilla features the world’s most realistic destruction engine, we thought that it would make for an interesting experiment to find out how many people, going about their everyday business, would stop in a busy city street to work out some stress by smashing their way into a car to earn a copy of the brand new game.”

RFG blasts onto XBOX 360,PS3

Volition’s destructive action game, Red Faction: Guerrilla, was released on Friday in the UK, and smashed its way onto Xbox 360s and PS3s everywhere, and straight to #2 in the UK charts!  Here at Jellymedia, we’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on the game early, but it was still good to get our own copies to take home!

As with UFC 2009: Undisputed, we’ve been seeding content for this game in recent weeks across the major gaming communities; keeping fans up to date with the latest screens and videos; also two demos: an explosive single player mission and a chaotic multiplayer demo, allowing gamers to try out the various weapons, vehicles and backpacks from the game.

There was also a THQ-hosted Multiplayer event at SCEE headquarters in London, that we arranged guests for, in which two groups of gamers were pitted against each other for a bit of guerrilla action!
